As Jesus was taken up, two messengers promised that He would come back in the same way. Paul wrote that the Lord will descend, the dead in Christ will rise, and believers will be with Him forever. John saw a new heaven and a new earth where God dwells with His people and wipes away every tear, and the book closes with the prayer that the Lord Jesus come.
