Pentecost
Also known as The coming of the Holy Spirit
On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon the gathered disciples in Jerusalem with the sound of wind and tongues of fire, and they spoke in other languages. Peter preached that Jesus, crucified and risen, is Lord and Christ, and about three thousand were baptized.
Why it matters. The church is born, Joel's promise of the Spirit is declared fulfilled, and the Gospel begins to spread.
