Galilee

Also known as Galilee of the Gentiles

Galilee is the northern region of the land where Jesus grew up and carried out most of His public ministry. Isaiah had spoken of light dawning on Zebulun and Naphtali, and Matthew reads the Galilean ministry as that light.

Why it matters. Galilee is the setting of the Kingdom announcement, the calling of the disciples, and most of the teaching and healing in the Gospels.
