Andrew
Also known as Andrew the apostle
Andrew was a fisherman from Bethsaida, the brother of Simon Peter and originally a disciple of John the Baptist. In John's Gospel he follows Jesus after John points Him out as the Lamb of God and then brings his brother Simon to Jesus; in the Synoptics he is called with Peter beside the Sea of Galilee.
Why it matters. Andrew's first act as a disciple was to bring someone else to Jesus, which is why the church has long remembered him as the pattern of a witness.
