Jesus announces the Kingdom

Also known as Beginning of the Galilean ministry

After John's arrest, Jesus returned to Galilee and began proclaiming that the time was fulfilled and the Kingdom of God had come near, calling people to repent and believe the good news. Luke records Him reading Isaiah in Nazareth and declaring it fulfilled.

Why it matters. This is the announcement the whole Old Testament was waiting for: God's reign arriving in the person of Jesus.
