About Uzzi

Uzzi was a priest who served as the head of the priestly family of Jedaiah during the time of Joiakim. Joiakim was the son of Jeshua, the high priest who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel. Uzzi is mentioned in the list of priestly family heads during this period of rebuilding after the exile. As a leader of the Jedaiah family, Uzzi would have had important responsibilities in the priestly service at the newly rebuilt temple.
