About Obadiah
Obadiah was a Levite who lived during the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah (2Ch.17.7). He was one of the Levites sent by Jehoshaphat to teach the Book of the Law in the cities of Judah. This educational mission was part of Jehoshaphat's reforms to strengthen the spiritual life of the nation and ensure that the people were instructed in the ways of the Lord.
