About Neariah
Neariah is briefly mentioned in 1Ch.4.42 as one of the leaders from the tribe of Simeon who led an expedition against the Amalekites during the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah. This event took place as part of the Simeonites' efforts to expand their territory and secure additional pastureland for their flocks.
According to the text, Neariah, along with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, led a group of 500 Simeonite men to Mount Seir, where they defeated the remaining Amalekites who had escaped previous battles.
