About Kore
Kore was a Levite gatekeeper, a descendant of Korah (1Ch.9.19). He belonged to the Korahite clan, which was responsible for guarding the thresholds of the tent of meeting (1Ch.9.19). Kore and his relatives were also in charge of guarding the entrance to the temple during David's reign (1Ch.26.1). They faithfully carried out their duties as gatekeepers.
