About Joel

Joel is mentioned in 1Ch.5.12 as one of the chiefs of the tribe of Gad who lived in the region of Bashan. He is listed alongside Shapham, the chief, and Janai and Shaphat, who were also in Bashan. The Gadites were one of the twelve tribes of Israel, and they settled in the area east of the Jordan River. The mention of Joel and the other chiefs provides insight into the leadership structure within the tribe of Gad during their time in Bashan.
