About Hezir
Hezir is mentioned in Neh.10.20 as one of the priests who sealed the covenant with Nehemiah and the people of Israel to follow the Law of God. This covenant was made after the completion of the wall of Jerusalem and the public reading of the Law. The priests, along with the Levites and leaders of the people, pledged to keep God's commandments, to avoid intermarriage with foreigners, and to support the temple and its services.
