Cleopas
Cleopas was one of the two disciples who walked to Emmaus on the day of the resurrection. He told the stranger who joined them everything that had happened in Jerusalem, listened as the stranger explained the Scriptures, and recognized Jesus when the bread was broken at their table.
Why it matters. Cleopas is one of the few named witnesses of a resurrection appearance outside the Twelve, and his story preserves Jesus's own reading of the Old Testament.
