Isaiah promised new heavens and a new earth where the former things are forgotten. John's final vision takes up the same words and adds that God Himself will wipe away every tear.

John's new heaven and new earth uses Isaiah's exact phrase and, in the same vision, Isaiah's promise that God will wipe away every tear.
